To get the waiver India consented to cut imports and escrow installments from Iran. According to news organization PTI, India told the US that it was ready to confine month to month oil buy from Iran from 22.6 million tons (452,000 barrels for each day) to 1.25 million tons or 15 million tons in a year.

In May, US President Donald Trump reported that the US will be re-forcing financial authorizes on Iran by pulling back the 2015 atomic accord. The authorizations halfway kicked in August and will kick-in completely including oil exchanges on November 5.
